Daybook Entry – 17th September

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…it’s dusk already!!!!! Not even 7.30pm and it is nearly dark. Eek Autumn has definitely landed!

I am thinking…this year has gone so fast.

I am thankful…for the loving security of my family.
In the kitchen…machines are whirring and humming nicely making our pots and our clothes nice and clean.

I am wearing…shorts and a yellow t-shirt.

I am creating…some hats for sale.

I am going…to bed early tonight. I had to be up early this morning and because I was aware that I couldn’t sleep through the alarm I didn’t really get to sleep properly last night. I think I checked my bedside clock at least 10 times during the night….yawn…..!

I am wondering…about the vastness of life

I am reading…Just downloaded a book recommended to me today by my friend David. It is called “The Cleansing” by Bill Rogers and is a crime novel set in my own city of Manchester. I’m looking forward to starting to read it later on tonight. Bring on bedtime!

I am hoping…the book is as good as promised.

I am looking forward to… “Experience Harvest” – a group of sessions we will be doing with the children of the local primary schools in church in a couple of weeks. We have done Christmas and Easter and this is the third instalment of our story with the young people of our parish. I love these things, you never know what you’re going to learn from the kids!

I am learning… how to filet crochet. My head hurts….

Around the house…we had a really good tidy up and clean out yesterday so things are….back to normal today sigh!

I am pondering…what music to play with my new band on Friday night.

A favourite quote for today… “We only believe that what we wish to be true” by Francis Bacon.

One of my favourite things… is the smell of newly polished wood in my living room.

A few plans for the rest of the week: A PCC meeting on Wednesday night and band rehearsal on Friday. Apart from that I’ll be busy crocheting. Happy days!

A peek into my day…

I can’t wait to get cracking on this yarn!!! I’m going to make a child’s jester hat out of it….fingers are itching!

  1. complete envy…when i read about your machines happily purring away washing pots and clothes…My new dishwasher which I bought about three weeks ago Hotpoint Ariston is rubbish,,it cannot even wash cups properly. It is being dealt with under the guarantee but I am not happy. My old cheapie spanish one that I sold to my neighbour for a pittance used to do a fantastic job
