Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.1 Corinthians 13: 4 – 8
Today marks a special day in our family. As a young naïve 20 year old and a young green 22 year old, Kevin and I got married at St Andrew’s Church in Blackley. Our life together has had its ups and downs, its joys and its traumas, and it has survived the most catastrophic events in the intervening years.
We have the joy of two wonderful children who have grown up to be independent, intelligent, clever, caring and giving people, and we have so many happy times as a family to look back on that it wouldn’t be fair to single any out.
Thank you to my husband, without whom I wouldn’t be here today sharing this anniversary and looking at what the future holds for us.
Let’s hope that we will continue to share all that married throws our way with our usual sense of humour and acceptance. We’ve survived the worst, we can certainly survive the best.
Love and light
